Artistic Inspiration

The only reason I am writing this in my blog is because I will probably forget about it when its time to actually work on it.

I have two final projects due in the next three weeks. One is for 3D Design, and the other is for Photo 2.

My idea for 3D is to do casts of facial features of family and friends. The concept is that everyone is defined by the way they look, but if you take each facial feature out of context, the face really is a work of art. I would make them with some sort of rubber mold, and then cast them with plaster.

For Photo 2, my idea is slightly similar. At first I was doing portraits of the kids I teach at Williams Field High School. I would tell them to show me who they are without actually saying anything. But then I thought deeper. The mouth is used for many things: talking, eating, singing, kissing, etc. Everyone does the same things with their mouths, but everyone's mouths are so different. Some people have big lips, some people have braces. So I am going to photograph mouths. (kinda weird, i know) It will be up to the model as to whether or not they want to smile, frown, stick out their tongue, anything.
